Feeling Dazed or Confused? You won't be after trying out some of these 70’s hair looks currently making a comeback. Hair rollers, lots of volume, and heaps of hairspray were staples from the 70’s but they’ve been all over TikTok for the past few months. We thought we’d try them out and have ourselves a groovy photoshoot brought to you from the third floor bathroom at Craig Hall. Each girl has a specific persona in mind; the rebel, the hippie, and the popular girl.

In this first look, model Macy Abernathy sports a knit top with tan trousers and black platform boots and is the certified “rebel” of this shoot. Her hair is styled using a 2.5 inch curling iron, curling each strand of hair away from the face to create a voluminous look. This look was inspired by the more grunge, laid-back hairstyles from the 70’s and exudes cool girl vibes.

Next up is Eleanor Wynne, the hippie, dressed in a long sleeve velvet top with geometric print pants reminiscent of the mod aesthetic from the early 70’s. Wynne’s hair is curled upward at the ends using a straightener which gives it plenty of bounce and movement. This look is very easy to replicate and can be styled with hair clips or a headband.

For this last look, Grace Mason wears a bright orange dress with matching headscarf and patent leather gogo boots. Her hair is styled with a 1 inch iron with each strand of hair curled in alternating directions. 1.5 inch hair rollers were used on the top pieces with each strand rolling over the curler so that it sits on top to create more volume. rushed out the hair for a soft effect. Mason’s look was inspired by the 70’s “It” girl Farrah Fawcett with the voluminous curly hair.

Want to participate in the 1970’s hair trend that's parading across the internet? Get yourself a pair of velcro rollers from Target or Amazon and curl each piece away from your face when your hair is slightly damp. Most kits come with different sizes of rollers that will give you different results but ultimately will end with you looking like a 70’s queen.
