Senior Tiffany Ivie is no stranger to bold prints and classic styles—traits her signature collection for the Missouri State University Fashion Department is full of. Senior collections are a great opportunity to make a statement and Tiffany’s collection, entitled ‘Dauntless,’ does just that.

After nearly 300 hours of sewing and pattern work, meetings with industry professionals, and learning about collection development, Tiffany’s senior collection is ready to impress. When asked what her inspiration was, Ivie said, “[Dauntless] was created to inspire individuality and confidence as well as provide versatile staple items to the modern woman’s wardrobe…My inspiration behind [the collection] is a tiger.”

Tiffany wanted to capture the strong and independent yet graceful and feminine nature of the tiger. She felt those characteristics within herself and wanted other women to see those characteristics within themselves too.

To make sure the items in her collection were versatile, Tiffany designed the pieces together as a capsule collection, intended to be staple items every woman can utilize for her wardrobe. Tiffany made sure to prioritize sustainability within her work, which is indicated in the decision for it to be a capsule collection.

“To me, the easiest way to be sustainable is to create and invest in pieces that can be worn many different ways for many different seasons,” Ivie said.

Of all the hard work put into her pieces, Tiffany says the blazer from look 5 was the most intimidating and difficult item to make. With the goal of each item serving a purpose in the average woman’s closet, she had to be sure the pieces were classic but on-trend. “I love the trendy crop style of [look 4].” With neutrals, eye-catching patterns, and flattering silhouettes, Ivie’s collection surely achieves a timeless yet trendy look.

“Dauntless is about overcoming and being sure of who you are,” Ivie said. “I learned so much while creating this collection and looking at it represents so much hard work coming to fruition.”
