Summer is right around the corner and it’s the perfect time to show off that neckline with a brand-new necklace stack. Fashion trends come and go, but the look of a layered necklace stack has been an accessory staple for years. Something unique about necklace stacking is that you can really let your personality show through your own stack and can combine your favorite jewelry to create a look that is uniquely yours. You can play with the necklaces: switch them out, incorporate color, or play with the boldness of your stack to reflect your personality.  Keep reading our necklace stacking guide for some more inspiration!

With necklace stacking, you can start by deciding what jewelry you want to wear. You can mix and match gold and silver jewelry or stick to one metal, whichever is more you! Sticking to one metal lets you create that aesthetically pleasing look, whereas mixing brings some fun to your look. Mixing metals creates some boldness for your look and the style of using the two is recently trending. Check out our photos to see how we styled silver and gold stacks and incorporated color within them!

The key to necklace stacking is to combine different styles and lengths of necklaces to create one cohesive look. You can choose a combination of rope, pearls, chains, dainty necklaces, and beaded ones. Mixing various types and lengths of necklaces will create a natural-looking stack that looks like you got it from the store! Another tip to make it your own is to add custom necklaces like beaded ones, ones with birthstones, shells, charms, or coins with simple chains to contrast each other.

If you’re unsure where to start, consider picking out two necklaces that have similar thicknesses. The second necklace should lay longer along the neckline and can have a charm, diamond, or any stone necklace with a centerpiece you want to focus on. Then, you can mix out more necklaces with varying textures, thicknesses, and lengths. This is where you personalize your stack to make it your own! Rope chains with stones or coins add an earthy vibe to the stack, whereas pearls with gold chains create an elegant vibe. Silver chains and crosses can give you that edgy feel, or beaded necklaces and chokers can add tons of color to your stack. The trick to necklace stacking is making it yours!

At the end of your necklace stacking, your combination should look like it’s one individual stack that came together to be one! Plus, since you're stacking your own necklaces with different lengths, thicknesses, and clasps, the chains have less chance of getting tangled. So you can save yourself the finger cramp and start this summer off with a fresh look!
