Fleur

One of my favorite ways to treat myself is to buy myself flowers. It’s a classically romantic gesture that seems to have been lost throughout the years, but flowers make a perfect gift for any occasion (even if the occasion is to celebrate yourself!). Luckily, Springfield’s local floral experts at Fleur Floral Studio offer customers a variety of blooms to suit every taste and brighten your day.

Customers who walk into Fleur are greeted by a bright, airy shop filled with beautiful colors. If you’re lucky you might even be greeted by Lucy, resident Border-Collie and door greeter. The shop is small but brimming with different knick-knacks and of course, flowers.

Fleur is most known for their variety of locally-grown blooms at their “Bloom Bar,” a shelf of different flowers and plants customers can pick from to craft their own bouquet. Owner Rose Cochran sources her flowers locally when she can through Flora and Forge, Millsap Farm, Gardenia Flower Farm, and Maypop Flower Farm. From local snapdragons to tulips, customers can feel good knowing they are supporting the local farmers who grew these beautiful blooms.

Fleur Floral Studio opened in 2021 by Cochran and her husband Garrett. A year after opening, the small business has only expanded to hire more employees and now collaborates with other small businesses in the community to offer more than your average floral shop.

Other gifts available to peruse include unique greeting cards, jewelry, bandanas, vases, chocolates, and more. The best part is most of the products are made by local creators, so every time you shop at Fleur, your dollars are going back into the Springfield community.

If you’re looking for something a little longer lasting than a bouquet for your loved ones, Fleur also offers customizable dried flower arrangements that can last up to a year.

Whether you’re looking for a gift for someone or want to treat yourself to a fun day while supporting small businesses, Fleur is a great place to stop by. The studio is nestled within a number of other locally owned businesses on Cherry and Pickwick, so next time you’re in the neighborhood, grab a bite to eat at Skully’s or Team Taco or grab a drink at The Royal or Tie and Timber before treating a friend (or yourself!) to a beautiful bouquet from Fleur.
