Ready to ring in the new year but still searching for that finishing touch to your outfit? Take your look to the next level with some festive eye makeup. Right now, it’s all about sparkle.
For an easy look that still packs a punch, try an oversized wing. Using a glitter eyeliner or liquid shadow, draw a line following the crease of your eyelid and extend outward. Then, create a wing at the outer corner and connect the two lines. Finally, fill in the lid for an all-over sparkle.
Want something more trendy? Add some stick-on gems. Start out by sweeping a shimmer over your lid. To make sure the gems stay on well into the new year, add a dab of eyelash glue before applying above the crease. For more fun looks, experiment with gem placement. You can add them along the lower lash line or to the inner corner.
If you’d prefer a more classic look, go for a smokey eye with a pop of color to keep things exciting. Instead of the typical browns and greys, opt for colors like blue, pink, or yellow. Pack your lightest shades on the inner half of the crease and your darkest shades on the outer portion then blend together with a transition color. Next, take a shimmer shade or eye glitter and press it onto the lid. Top it off with a bold winged liner to tie it all together.
You can even mix and match elements from these looks for something more creative. Either way, you’re sure to stand out. New Year’s Eve is all about having fun, so don’t be afraid to do that with your makeup too!
