Want to mix a new pair of shoes into your regular rotation of AF1s and Doc Martens? A pair of loafers can balance out your shoe game and spice up your day to day outfits.

This year we’ve seen a variety of loafers come onto the scene. Many have a chunky platform or a metal embellishment across the toe. Though they often come in black or white, some brightly colored loafers are available for the sartorially adventurous.

Simultaneously classic yet edgy, these shoes can be dressed down with jeans and a button-up blouse or dressed up when paired with a black skirt and blazer.

These are a perfect winter shoe to substitute for your regular boots. Typically associated with professional settings, loafers are great for work, meetings, and interviews, but can also be worn for dinner or drinks as an alternative to heels.

Wear with white or patterned socks for a quirky flare or with opaque black tights for a sleek and chic look.

These shoes can range in price from the enviable quadruple digit Prada loafers to ones you might find second hand at your local thrift store. Regardless, you’re going to want to start clearing out a space in your closet for these shoes this season
