Rise, located in downtown Springfield, focuses on a quick turnover while filling the large need for locally sourced restaurants in the area.

Christopher Pereira, front of store manager at Rise, believes “there was a need for breakfast in Springfield that was convenient.”

The main focus of Rise is to serve a quality breakfast and lunch to the Springfield community that feels like fine dining but could be picked up on the way to work. Run by the same owners as European Café, Rise brings European flavor to Springfield in a fresh new way.

The biggest selling point for Rise is the fact that all of their menu is fresh from local farms. At Rise they want to sell their customers food that is sustainable and from fair trade. The restaurant prides themselves on not making compromises. That includes making all of their food fresh and in-house each and every day. They strongly believe that “you’re only as good as what you eat.”

“The food is amazing, everything is amazing,” Shawna Conyers, a repeat customer at Rise, said.

When constructing the menu the owners wanted to bring pieces of their home to the table. Pereira says the menu at Rise is meant to be hearty and filling, “like customers are eating at home”.

Rise’s menu features something for everyone. They have eggs on brioche, salmon, strawberry and cream ricotta pancakes, and countless other things on their menu.

When walking into Rise, customers can expect to be welcomed by the fast paced yet casual atmosphere. The staff at Rise encourages customers to not be afraid to try new things when they come into Rise.

Sidney Young and Aliz Jonusas, customers at Rise, say the atmosphere of Rise is one of their favorite things about the restaurant. “It’s very different for Springfield… you just feel welcome,” Jonusas said.

Pereira says that since the restaurant opened in late February they have been busy in the best way. In the future, Rise hopes to grow alongside the Springfield community. Ultimately, they have the goal of  encouraging other restaurants to be brave and make bold homegrown choices that can benefit every member of the community.
