417 Businesses to Support During Coronavirus
*Note: we do not advise anyone leaving their homes for non-essential purposes. The services listed can be supported in ways that allow you to continue social distancing and following Springfield’s stay-at-home order.*
During a time of uncertainty, it’s important to recognize the importance of community. Part of that community is the small, local businesses that meet consumer needs. Here is a list of some of the businesses you can support throughout the pandemic.
Restaurants:
Bambinos - Free delivery and carryout services are available at the Delmar location of Bambinos, just a few minutes from campus. The Bambinos staff has encouraged people to get outside during this time and have an appropriately-social-distanced picnic in your own front yard- you’ll receive 10% off if you mention “picnic” in your call-in order.
Druff’s - Druff’s offers several delivery options through Doordash, Grubhub, Uber Eats, and more. Keep them in mind for breakfast, lunch, and dinner as they serve all meals! I recommend the Good Doctor grilled cheese.
Mudhouse Coffee - Offering curbside pickup and payment as well as ordering by phone or online, Mudhouse is still available for you to get your caffeine fix during the quarantine. You can also order coffee beans, mugs, and stickers to show your local coffeehouse pride.
Houlihan’s - Grab the perfect dinner at either of Houlihan’s locations with curbside carry-out or delivery. They are offering family-style dishes that feed 4; a perfect option for if you’re quarantined with your roomies!
Eurasia Coffee & Tea - Eurasia is offering free local delivery via online orders. In addition, they’re sharing specialized brewing guides on social media so you can make the best coffee blend while at home.
Clothing & Accessories:
5 Pound Apparel (5PA) - Though their storefronts have closed, you can still support 5PA by opting for local delivery or free shipping online. Order yourself a comfy sweatshirt to snuggle up in for these coming weeks, or an Urban Wax Refinery candle to light by your bedside for all these nights in. 5PA continues to donate 5 lbs of food to the Ozarks Food Harvest for every branded item sold during this time.
Staxx - Staxx is available for online orders, where you can also use the “AfterPay” option to split your total into 4 interest-free payments. It’s the perfect place to order a beach bag or some sunglasses to (fingers crossed) use later on in the summer of 2020.
Hobbies & Miscellaneous:
SOAP Refill Station - Soap Refill Station remains open to the public and follows CDC recommendations for their in-store functions. They go the extra mile by offering multiple means of service: call-in and pick up your order curbside, have your order delivered to you, or drop off your own bottles with labels and let the staff fill them for you to pick up later.
The Home Brewery - Maybe you want to pick up a new hobby during quarantine: whether it’s making your own wine, beer, soda, cider, or cheese. The Home Brewery in Ozark has got you covered with supplies to make it happen. They are offering curbside pickup and mail-order supplies, making it easy to start that new quarantine project.
Culture Flock - Interested in picking up some artistic habits while at home? Order a Daily Creative journal, Color Block Pencil Set, or some awesome patches to sew onto your jacket from Culture Flock. Online ordering is simple and you can get 10% off after signing up for their email list.
The Outland Complex - Consider supporting our local, kick-ass music venue by purchasing t-shirts to rep (even if you’re only wearing them at home). Though the building is closed, the Outland is selling a few different t-shirt designs to help support its staff during this time.
Yellow Frog Company - Branson’s Yellow Frog Company, a full-service bead and jewelry arts shop, can help you boost your artistic talents while stuck at home. They’re providing free, live art classes online to foster community through artwork. You can also support them by ordering a pair of homemade earrings or other jewelry items from their website or Facebook page.
Pagination Bookshop - Shop online new and used books, including some by local authors, from Pagination Bookshop. Plenty of time to read nowadays, so this is a must-order!
